The Salento is a land of a thousand resources, kilometres of coastline with specific characteristics where stretches of soft, golden beaches alternate with capricious, natural cliffs that end directly in the sea. Unspoilt nature surrounds much of this beautiful coastline with its typical Mediterranean scrub that spontaneously draws and colours the surrounding cliffs green. A corner of paradise just north of Otranto amidst many natural inlets with a crystal-clear blue sea is home to the Grotta dell"Eremita, a large, mysterious cave clearly visible from the sea and whose shape on the inside almost resembles the vault of a Romanesque church. On the surface at the far end of the cave, one can admire the evocative paths for trekking lovers that characterise this wonderful area, completely engulfed by wild and solitary nature. The Grotta dell"Eremita opens majestically before our eyes in all its natural beauty. We can admire it in all its complexity directly from the sea, diving into these pristine, clean waters and perhaps taking a selfie to preserve in the memories of a beautiful holiday in Otranto. The area is quiet and you can breathe an air of absolute relaxation even in the height of the season. A few kilometres separate us from the city centre and to fully enjoy this suggestive stretch of coastline, the ideal thing would be to rent a small boat to discover the most remote and hidden parts of this corner of Salento.
