The Lido dei Pirati in Porto Cesareo overlooks the Ionian Sea, characteristic for the impressive low tide that makes this stretch of coast ideal for families with small children; the water in fact does not even reach the ankles, so much so that the lifeboat is not positioned, as we usually see in other lidos, on the shoreline but directly in the water on the sand of the sea. The beach is very fine and white and the place is a little spartan but in the company of nice people, local families and people who like peace and quiet.
