Acquaviva

Salento, Marina di Marittima - Diso: Acquaviva is the name of a small inlet in Marina di Marittima on the Adriatic Sea in the municipality of Diso. Acquaviva is a gem set among the rocks of this stretch of coastline in the Lower Salento region. Not far from the more famous Marina di Castro, this marvellous inlet encompasses all the beauty of the surrounding landscape, a naturalistic charm that manifests itself in a mixture of different colours ranging from the green of the Mediterranean maquis and the suggestive pine forest to the blue of the sea and the different shades of brown of the uninterrupted cliffs. The bay is found as if in an embrace of rocks and cliffs and is easily reached by a flight of steps that begins at the car park at the top of this enchanted place. A typical feature of this stretch of coastline that you will certainly not fail to notice is the freshness of these waters due to the presence of numerous freshwater springs present here, which make your dives full of adrenalin, freshness and pleasant sensations, especially on sultry days. Nature has really had fun designing these fabulous places, and the charm and beauty that surrounds us can be felt immediately when we get out of the car and anxiously head towards the bay, and step by step we can"t wait to get down to the sea for an emotionally charged swim. The water immediately becomes high, a typical characteristic of Salento reefs, so watch out for children, the rocky seabed is ideal for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts; the place is an absolute gem and for obvious reasons now falls under the environmental protection of the Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca Park. Spending even a single day in Acquaviva enriches your holiday but above all your spirit because of the stupendous landscape you will have in front of you and at that point you will not even find the words to describe such a spectacle of nature. Those who come for the first time never forget and sooner or later return because Acquaviva represents the pride and joy of your Salento holiday, a summer to be immortalised and kept among the most precious memories!

Spiaggia di Chianca Liscia

Salento, Marina di Marittima - Diso: The Chianca Liscia beach is located in Marina di Marittima, a hamlet of the municipality of Diso in the province of Lecce. We are on the side of the Adriatic Sea in the deep south of a Salento all waiting to be discovered, for its natural beauty, for the surrounding landscape and for a coastline that never ceases to amaze, attracting hundreds of visitors every year in search of a refreshing spot to enjoy a day at the beach. The Beach of Chianca Liscia owes its name to the fact that this place has a type of smooth, flat cliff, shaped by the perpetual flow of the waves in such a way that it is convenient for laying out your beach towel and taking advantage of a beautiful tan under the Salento sun so as to make your colleagues envious once you have returned to work. The Chianca Liscia beach is a wonderful place, a little corner of paradise that is seldom visited even in the height of the summer season, and this lonely, lost-in-time aspect makes it even more attractive and inviting for those seeking relaxation and tranquillity. Here you will only be distracted by the sound of the waves beating so gently on the rocks and you will have nothing to do but relax and be massaged by that gentle breeze that usually blows in these parts. The only flaw is in reaching the Chianca Liscia beach, as to get there you have to walk along a small path with a flight of steps downhill that is not really appropriate, so I would not recommend this place to families with children, the elderly or the disabled. For the rest, once you get there, it will be pleasant to bathe in these cool, clean waters; the sea is shallow for only a small stretch, after which it immediately becomes deep and lends itself happily to snorkelling enthusiasts but also for a healthy, regenerating swim. This place deserves all our attention, but also our care in respecting an uncontaminated nature. As you leave, take your rubbish bags back with you, a small gesture to keep intact an environment that is as evocative as it is delicate... happy holidays from Marina di Marittima.

Torre Capo Lupo

Salento, Marina di Marittima - Diso: The Capo Lupo Tower stands in Marina di Marittima, a hamlet in the municipality of Diso, in the province of Lecce. This tower is among the oldest coastal towers in Salento, as its construction dates back to around 1400, when it was erected as a watchtower and defence against Saracen pirate raids. The Capo Lupo Tower, now reduced to ruins, has a cylindrical shape divided by a conspicuous curb that delimits its final part. Being one of the earliest constructions compared to the rest of the coastal towers in Salento, the Capo Lupo Tower initially communicated with the marina of Castro, later Torre Diso was built to the north and Torre Porto di Ripa to the south. The Torre Capo Lupo is located on a high promontory from which a beautiful panorama can be enjoyed. Here one can breathe in an air of absolute relaxation and the surrounding nature mingles with historical references, creating pleasant stimulating emotions.
