We are in the heart of Salento, on the splendid Ionian Sea just outside Gallipoli. As you walk along these enchanted places, you can immediately and intensely sense in the air that scent of a holiday mixed with carefreeness, your thoughts convey happiness and the desire to be warmed by the rays of a sun that burns brightly during the hottest hours of the day, so what better choice than to stop even for a brief rest and refresh yourself in the blue waters of this wonderful sea. Rivabella is a source of pride for the people of Salento. In the past, this beach was only frequented by locals and was not very well known; today, with the advent of the internet and mass tourism, these places are literally taken by storm during the summer season and are a constant bustle of tourists and holidaymakers looking for a stretch of beach where they can relax and enjoy the day. This area has all the characteristics of the typical corner of paradise amidst the green vegetation of the Mediterranean maquis, with large pine forests that grow close to small dunes with soft, fine sand, a low cliff just before entering the sea, and water so transparent that it is possible to see one"s own reflection; all this is Rivabella, a truly enchanted place where nature has ensured that nothing is missing, designing this stretch of coastline in a meticulous and careful manner. The beach is quite crowded in the height of summer, both by families with children as the water depth is shallow for long stretches, making it ideal, and by groups of young people who decide to spend a fun-filled day at the beach. If you take a walk around the area, you will find several lidos and facilities where you can cool off with a cold drink. It may be a little difficult to find a parking space, but for the rest, take advantage of the shade of the pine forest, or plant a beach umbrella and spread your towel with your favourite book and relax until the sunset, which you absolutely must not miss. Take care of these places, take your rubbish bags back with you, nature will be grateful, and for the rest... happy holidays in Rivabella.
