The San Giorgio beach lies along a picturesque stretch of coastline on the south-eastern side of Salento, a few kilometres north of Otranto in the province of Lecce. This corner of Apulia surrounded by wild and solitary nature sees the presence of a large and thick pine forest, which always comes in handy in the height of summer for the pleasant areas of shade it provides, in a riot of wild colours enhanced by the scents of the classic Mediterranean maquis alternating with high sand dunes and low cliffs. The San Giorgio beach is the ideal place for those seeking direct contact with nature, far from noisy beaches with loud music; here relaxation reigns supreme, the sea remains shallow for long stretches so let your children play in peace. The area is a little windy, but it is a pleasure to be caressed by that summer wind that stimulates our senses with pleasure. Sections of smooth, low cliffs alternate with soft, white sand to suit all tastes, so once you arrive in this enchanted corner, all you have to do is choose an inviting spot to spread out your beach towel and enjoy the surrounding landscape, taking advantage of a perfect tan to proudly show off once you return to work. The whole area is quiet and uncrowded even in the height of summer; the nearby beaches of Otranto to the south and Melendugno to the north polarise much of the tourism of the Adriatic coast, so Conca Specchiulla and Frassanito are in these terms the lucky Cenerontole where you can find moments of tranquillity and wellbeing to enjoy a wonderful day at the beach. What more can we add, these places deserve all our respect, take care of them and take your rubbish bags back with you, have a good summer from San Giorgio Beach.
