Torre Mozza beach is located on the Ionian coast of Salento, in the Apulia region, in the province of Lecce. Bathed by the waters of the Ionian Sea, this free beach is characterised by fine golden sand, with crystal-clear waters ranging from emerald green to deep blue and gently sloping. The beach is about one and a half kilometres long and up to 50 metres wide, with a wider area in the central part. Along the beach there are bathing establishments equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and services such as bars and restaurants, but there are also large free areas for those who prefer a more natural and less crowded solution. The sea is generally calm and suitable for swimming, and a few hundred metres from the coast are the famous Secchie di Ugento, a unique underwater landscape rich in flora and ideal for snorkelling; these shallows, which extend for about 3 or 4 kilometres, have caused several shipwrecks over the centuries, some made famous such as the fatal adventure of Pyrrhus king of Epirus who came here to help Taranto in the war against Rome. The Torre Mozza beach is particularly suitable for families with children because the water is shallow for long stretches and there are games on the beach such as slides and swings. In addition, the presence of the ancient 16th-century tower makes the landscape even more evocative. Beauties of a Salento rich in history and smelling of the sea, happy holidays from the Torre Mozza beach.
