The Torre San Giovanni beach is located on the beautiful Ionian Sea and is part of the Marina di Ugento; it is a long, wide stretch of beach that stretches along a stretch of coastline characteristic for its fine, white sand and crystal-clear, blue sea. The seabed maintains a low height, making the beach ideal for families with children in search of relaxation and carefreeness. Another distinguishing feature of this stretch of coastline are the high dunes that develop behind the beach in a mixture of Mediterranean scrub, a green pine forest and lush vegetation typical of this enchanting landscape. The Torre San Giovanni beach is quite busy, especially in high season when hundreds of tourists and locals flock here to spend a day of leisure and tranquillity in this corner of paradise. To refresh oneself from the summer heat, the beach is surrounded by various lidos equipped with bars and restaurants, so it will not be difficult to find one to cool off and perhaps enjoy a few drinks in front of a beautiful sunset. Continuing towards the Torre del Faro (Lighthouse Tower), the rocks take over from the golden sand and the seabed takes on all those typical features of the Salento reef to the delight of snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. So if you come on holiday to Salento, do not forget to spend at least a few hours on this marvellous beach, the beauty and pride of this wonderful land full of charm and traditions.
