Torre Sinfonò is located in Capilungo, a hamlet in the municipality of Alliste in the province of Lecce. We are in Lower Salento, along a beautiful stretch of coastline bathed by the waters of the Ionian Sea, and this 16th-century tower stands 50 metres above the sea at an altitude of about 16 metres. Torre Sinfonò is part of the complex system of watchtowers erected during the 16th century to deal with the continuous incursions of the Turkish pirates who raged the coasts of the Salento in those years. The tower communicated to the south with Torre San Giovanni and to the north with Torre Suda; today only the first floor of Torre Sinfonò remains and it is located inside a private property. Torre Sinfonò has a circular base and what remains is the sloping plinth that ends with the upper curb with a diameter of about 11 metres. Timeless beauty from the Capilungo marina, happy holidays.
