The area of Tricase Porto offers several cues to the visitor who decides to spend some time among the narrow streets of this charming locality; we are in Lower Salento, on the eastern side of the Heel of Italy, and Tricase Porto is a small hamlet of Tricase that faces the Adriatic Sea, in the province of Lecce. This marina holds several natural areas all of considerable interest, and one of them is definitely Canale del Rio, a characteristic inlet whose rocky walls fall sheer directly into the sea. The peculiarity of the Canale del Rio is that it originates from an inland with a habitat partly altered by olive cultivations and with a stretch that sees a large wooded area with the presence in addition of the characteristic Aleppo pines and then ends its descent into the sea through a cliff that is colored green thanks to the dense Mediterranean scrub and that covers most of the final walls.
