The Grotta del Presepe (Cave of the Crib) is a beautiful example of a sea cave located in Felloniche, a marina that is part of the municipality of Patù in the province of Lecce. The whole stretch of coastline in question sees the presence of a crystal clear sea, which with its transparent seabed conveys that sense of infinity; in this point there are several currents that cross and merge for a symbolic embrace between the Ionian and the Adriatic seas, the presence also of fresh water springs makes these waters particularly fresh and inviting for a regenerating bath during hot summer days. The Cave of the Crib is clearly visible from the perspective of the sea, so called because the presence of some natural limestone sculptures seem to depict the likeness of the characters of the crib, this sea cavity develops through the formation of some arches that can be reached only when the sea is calm and without any danger. The sea takes on different colors ranging from emerald to turquoise with small hues that change according to the different hours of the day; the rich seabed is ideal for diving activities and the different points of the reef lend themselves wonderfully to diving enthusiasts, so as to savor that unique thrill of being projected into the water in a split second. Have a great summer from the Crib Cave.
