If you long for tranquility and want to spend a day at the beach outside the canonical patterns, away from crowded and noisy beaches then the Paduli Beach is the place for you. Surrounded by lush vegetation with wide expanses of Mediterranean scrub that mingle with sand dunes and expanses of soft and fine sand this stretch of free beach turns out to be a real corner of lost paradise; the crystal blue sea is shallow for long stretches and then slopes gently and is therefore ideal for families with children. Spiaggia dei Paduli is located between Torre Mozza and Lido Marini, two marinas belonging to the municipality of Ugento in the province of Lecce; this beach rises not far from the ancient 16th-century tower of Torre Mozza and is little frequented even in high season. Few or no services and equipped lidos are available, so bring only what you need, a cooler bag full of cold drinks, your beach towel and umbrella to plant. Spiaggia dei Paduli is so called because it is located right in front of the Paduli degli Spunderati Reclamation, an artificial basin connected to the sea through a canal that lies within an area rich in nature trails ideal for nature lovers and those seeking close contact with unspoiled environments.
