Cattapignula Beach is located in Otranto, in the province of Lecce. This beach lies within a beautiful inlet and its name, Cattapignula, derives from the local dialect meaning bat, in fact at this stretch of coast it is possible to glimpse a cave in which several bats live and nest. Some stretches of the surrounding cliffs are covered in the green of the typical Mediterranean scrub, and the view of the surrounding landscape is truly fascinating. The sea, blue and crystal clear, becomes immediately deep after a few strokes and the seabed so rich in life is ideal for those who love snorkeling. The Beach of Cattapignula is a true corner of lost paradise, of course one suggestion would be to rent a small boat and go to discover the most picturesque corners of this wonderful stretch of coastline. Summer is coming what are you waiting for, greetings from Otranto.
