Torre Mozza beach is located on the Ionian coast of Salento, in the region of Puglia, in the province of Lecce. Bathed by the waters of the Ionian Sea this free beach is characterized by fine golden sand, with crystal-clear waters ranging from emerald green to deep blue and sloping gently. The beach is about a mile long and up to 50 meters wide, with a wider area in the central part. There are bathing establishments along the beach equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and services such as bars and restaurants, but there are also large free areas for those who prefer a more natural and less crowded option. The sea is generally calm and suitable for swimming; a few hundred meters from the coast are the famous Secchie di Ugento, a unique underwater landscape rich in flora and ideal for those who love snorkeling; these shallows, which extend for about 3 or 4 kilometers, have caused several shipwrecks over the centuries, some made famous such as the fatal adventure of Pyrrhus king of Epirus who came to these parts to help Taranto in the war against Rome. Torre Mozza beach is particularly suitable for families with children because the water is shallow for long stretches and there are beach games such as slides and swings. In addition, the presence of the ancient 16th-century tower makes the landscape even more striking. Beauties of a Salento rich in history and smelling of the sea, happy vacations from Torre Mozza Beach.
