In the very center of this small village called Torre Colimena we find the tower of the same name that soars majestically among prickly pear plants and low cliffs overlooking the sea. This 16th-century coastal tower is part of that complex system of defense of the territory that sees precisely the presence of numerous towers scattered along the entire coast of Salento. Torre Colimena has remained intact over the centuries. This beautiful monument is now the home of a museum of ancient ceramics that were used for storing wine, and public access is allowed by prior reservation. This area is as rich in history and culture as the whole of Puglia, and these glimpses of an ancient landscape represented by this beautiful tower now constitute the pride of a wonderful and undiscovered land called Salento. Have a great summer and happy vacations in Torre Colimena.
