Torre Sinfonò is located in Capilungo a hamlet of the municipality of Alliste in the province of Lecce. We are in Lower Salento, along a beautiful stretch of coast bathed by the waters of the Ionian Sea, and this 16th-century tower soars 50 meters above the sea at an elevation of about 16 meters. Torre Sinfonò is part of the complex system of watchtowers erected during the 16th century to cope with the continuous raids of the Turkish pirates that raged the coasts of Salento in those years. The tower communicated to the south with Torre San Giovanni while to the north with Torre Suda; today only the second floor remains of Torre Sinfonò and it is located within private property. Torre Sinfonò has a circular base and what remains is the escarpment plinth that ends with the upper curb for a diameter of about 11 meters. Timeless beauties from the marina of Capilungo, happy vacations.
