Sant"Isidoro communicates to the north with the town of Porto Cesareo and to the south with Torre Inserraglio, is part of the Nardò marina and overlooks the Ionian Sea. The area is characterised by white beaches and low cliffs. The island of Sant"Isidoro, which is a short distance from the coast and can also be reached by swimming, is charming.
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: The Torre Squillace beach, also known as Li Scianuli, is a small tongue of sand adjacent to the ancient 16th-century tower of the same name. It is a free and uninhabited beach where the sand is quite coarse and full of pebbles, so that hanging out your towel may be a little uncomfortable for the more fussy. Entering the water, which is shallow at first and accessible to everyone, one immediately notices the natural presence of various sea pebbles and a poorly maintained seabed, but this does not prevent us from cooling off during a hot summer, just by putting on some rock shoes. Although of a fairly modest length, the beach is characterised by an inlet from which it is easy to reach the reef for a dip in the pristine blue waters where it is said that Lucio Battisti was inspired by this crystal-clear sea and wrote the song Acqua azzurra acqua chiara. Relaxation is assured the beach as well as the nearby cliff is usually frequented by locals who love tranquillity and privacy.
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: Acqua Azzurra is built on a wooden platform on one of Salento"s most beautiful cliffs near the Torre Squillace beach, also known as Li Scianuli. The new and refined lido has an excellent location thanks to the view of the 16th-century tower. From here, diving into the high, crystal-clear waters takes no time at all. Children are always accompanied by their parents. Aperitifs and music accompany you until the evening... a must try!
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: The beautiful and elegant Tuamotu Lido is located on the reef between Sant"Isidoro and Torre Squillace. The name is taken from the Polynesian archipelago of the same name in the South Pacific Ocean; the lido consists of a long central corridor from which, on either side, small platforms rise, named after the archipelago"s islets. The platforms consist of at least 6 umbrellas and give a sense of space and privacy. The entrance to the water is via a flight of steps at the end of the central corridor. It only takes a few steps to dive into the water, which is at least three metres deep. Children accompanied. The Tuamotu Lido is also a pizzeria with a wood-burning oven.
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: Between Sant"Isidoro and Torre Squillace is the Conca del Diavolo, an inlet characterised by broad cliffs and stones. Part of the Nardò navy, this impervious landscape, which opens up to our eyes with its uncultivated appearance and jagged coastline, holds a unique charm and beauty. The landscape, full of inlets and small sea caves, remains an enchanting place; the sea immediately becomes deep after a few strokes and is ideal for diving from the numerous stretches of reef characterised by indentations that make this stretch of coastline worthwhile. Perhaps not exactly easy to reach, and let"s just say that if you ask the locals for information they are unlikely to be able to tell you the exact spot, even if they know the name, but we will try to help you by pointing out the stretch in the vicinity of Lido Tuamotu, with an eye to the children. A must-visit!
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: Lido Petra stands on a platform between Lido Sant" Isidoro and Torre Squillace in the midst of unspoilt nature. The new and elegant wooden structure is spacious and comfortable. A splendid panorama can be admired from here. The beach umbrellas are the right distance from each other. The sea is stunningly beautiful, clean even in August. Lido Petra has three entrances to the sea, one of which, the central one, takes you straight into the deep water. Children always accompanied...
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: Spiaggia Barzolla is a small stretch of free beach joined to cliffs in a mixture of Mediterranean scrub and uncultivated rushes. It is located in the Sant"Isidoro marina right next to a large car park used as a weekly market every Sunday. So called because years ago there was an old mussel farm, and by extension, the name of the owners of those plants gave rise to Spiaggia Barzolla. It is a small natural oasis ideal for getting lost and forgetting our daily routine that is always full of work commitments. The sea, shallow at first but with plenty of rocks, opens up in its depth after only a few metres and a swim in these crystal-clear, transparent waters is refreshing. Be careful of the waves when the sea (most of the time) is a little rough. Definitely worth a visit to this small but attractive oasis in the Salento.
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: Sant"Isidoro. The Lido Oasi Sant"Isidoro is located on the beach of the same name. Beautiful, well-kept, fine beach, excellent for your holiday. The Lido Oasi Sant"Isidiro is a bathing establishment for young people and families. The shallow, crystal-clear water is particularly suitable for families with small children, but also ideal for young people who like to have fun playing beach tennis or table football in the water. Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: The Blu Salento Village beach is located in Sant"Isidoro in a large shallow water basin suitable for families with small children. The beach is crowded with tourists from all parts of Italy and beyond, and is well served by restaurants and kiosks. Moreover, for rock lovers, it is very close to a low cliff just below the Tower of Sant"Isidoro. The view is heavenly; opposite is the island of Sant" Isidoro, a small island that can be reached by swimming for the fit and healthy, or by pedalo.
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: The small town of Sant"Isidoro is characterised by the presence of the 16th century tower built by Charles V to defend the coast from Saracen attacks. The majesty of the Tower combined with the beauty of the island, set in front of it, make this an enchanted place. Many bathers flock, especially in August when the beach of Sant"Isidoro is crowded, right behind the Tower, where they find a rewarding low cliff and much tranquillity. From here one can easily swim to the island or enjoy a fantastic sunset in the company of friends and family. The place is served by various accommodation facilities, including restaurants and bars.
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: The island of Sant Isidoro is an unspoilt environment that can be reached by small boats or even by swimming. The island has a small sandy frontal strip, while the rest of the island is all low cliffs. The bottom around the island consists of pebbles and small stones and the water is crystal clear. The place is quiet and you can relax to the max! Worth a try!
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: The small beach of Lido dell"Ancora lies a little to the south of Sant Isidoro, two natural sandy inlets in the middle of the rocks that are very popular with local families. Further towards the low cliffs, a concrete diving board was built from which one could dive, but in 2020 a strong sea storm completely destroyed it; nevertheless, it is possible to continue diving to the delight of bathers. The free bay is well stocked with local activities. In the evening, you can enjoy the spectacle of the sunset in the company of good music and good aperitifs... come and experience this fantastic beach this summer!
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: The Palude del Capitano (Captain"s Swamp), known by the locals as Frascone because of the large frasche (branches) that have grown up in this area, includes three small sandy beaches between the rocks... the third beach, heading south, is the smallest, but in my opinion the most beautiful and suggestive, and there are fresh and cold water springs. On days when the sirocco wind is particularly annoying, it is really nice here because you are covered by vegetation; going further south, between the rocks, there is a natural swimming pool, the destination of many tourists and locals... and do you think this paradise could lack a small island? But of course not... in fact, the islet is just a few strokes from the coast... the place is magnificent and heavenly, and it is not very crowded even on hot, sultry August days. At the Li Crussupini kiosk, located nearby, you can find food and drink.
Salento, Sant Isidoro - Nardò: Dinamiko Beach is a bathing establishment in Sant"Isidoro a marina in the municipality of Nardò in the province of Lecce. The facility is managed by a voluntary association that has been operating in the area for several years. Have a good summer at Dinamiko Beach.
