Tricase Porto faces the south-east coast of Salento and is bordered to the south by Marina Serra and to the north by Marina di Andrano. Tricase Porto is characterised by low cliffs and is rich in caves and hidden inlets that make the landscape beautiful.
Salento, Tricase : The area of Tricase Porto offers several cues to the visitor who decides to spend some time in the narrow streets of this charming locality. We are in the Lower Salento, on the eastern side of the Heel of Italy, and Tricase Porto is a small hamlet of Tricase that overlooks the Adriatic Sea, in the province of Lecce. This marina is home to several natural areas all of considerable interest and one of them is the Canale del Rio, a characteristic inlet whose rocky walls fall sheer directly into the sea. The peculiarity of the Canale del Rio is that it springs from an inland area with a habitat partly altered by the cultivation of olive trees and with a stretch that sees a large wooded area with the presence also of the characteristic Aleppo pines, and then ends its descent into the sea through a cliff that is coloured green by the dense Mediterranean scrub and that covers most of the final walls. The spectacle is particularly impressive as the different natural colours appear in different shades ranging from brown to the white of the calcareous rocks and intertwine with the deep blue of a beautiful sea. The Rio Canal is now a popular destination for many tourists who decide to visit it every summer to enjoy this beautiful panorama and breathe in the air that conveys relaxation and tranquillity in a perfect fusion between the surrounding nature and the immensity represented by the Adriatic. In some places one almost feels a sense of freedom, trying to close one"s eyes and allow oneself to be caressed by that light breeze that blows in this area conveys an indescribable joy, small emotions that cost very little if we think of the spectacle before us. Perhaps it is the sumptuousness of the place and this almost fairy-tale cliff, but the fact remains that behind the Rio Canal there are various legends that tell stories of princes and devils who come to make strange pacts to see the shady desires of a principality disliked by the local population fulfilled. Beauties of a land that never ceases to surprise... Happy summer from Tricase Porto and Canale del Rio.
Salento, Tricase : The Grotta del Carmine represents another pearl of the natural beauty that this beautiful land called Salento offers to the many tourists who every summer decide to spend part of their time in this remote corner of Apulia. The Grotta del Carmine is located in Marina Porto, a small hamlet in the municipality of Tricase in the province of Lecce; the surrounding landscape offers a spectacular panorama with the green of the Mediterranean maquis covering most of the promontories that end directly in the sea. The view is spectacular along this stretch of coastline characterised by low cliffs and hidden inlets waiting to be discovered. Completing this marvellous setting is a crystal-clear blue sea with a seabed rich in marine fauna and attractive plays of light filtering through the various crevices between the rocks. It may be a little difficult to find a parking space, given the tiny hamlet of this beautiful Salento community. However, the Grotta del Carmine is easily accessible, and once inside, you will feel as if you have been ravished by time; the deep blue of the waters reflected inside the cave conveys emotions that cannot be described in words, an unusual silence surrounds much of this sea cavity, and a sense of peace and tranquillity characterises a unique experience that should be experienced first-hand to appreciate certain sensations. The Grotta del Carmine is a natural beauty of great respect, both for the simplicity with which it presents itself and for the surrounding landscape that blends with the various colours that nature so generously dispenses. Welcome to Salento and have a good summer from Marina Porto di Tricase.
Salento, Tricase : The Tricase Porto beach, although really tiny in size, deserves to be mentioned among the natural beauties of this beautiful land called Salento. We are on the Adriatic side, in the deep south-east of the Apulia region, along a stretch of coast that is characterised mainly by high cliffs falling sheer to the sea and by a series of countless caves and small inlets framing a landscape of rare beauty. The Salento is a fascinating area and one has to experience it in all its facets to feel those strong emotions that fill each and every one of our shots in photographing these wonderful experiences with colourful memories. Tricase Porto is one of the many stops you must not miss if you really want to experience an unforgettable holiday; this corner of paradise offers a sea so transparent and crystal clear that you can count every single stone on the seabed. Here the maxim of "looking for a needle in a haystack" is nullified. Try throwing a needle into these beautiful natural open-air pools and I bet you that the needle would be fished out after only a few minutes; just a small comparison to explain the beauty of these waters that are tremendously cool on the first dive and charge us with a healthy adrenalin rush while the warm summer sun pleasantly dries our bodies. All this is the Spiaggia di Tricase (Tricase Beach), perhaps minimally small in size but certainly big in terms of the many emotions that hundreds of people experience every year by visiting these places. The Tricase beach is quite busy in the summer, both with tourists arriving from all over the place and with local families who decide to spend a quiet day at the beach with their children, since the water is shallow for long stretches; the beach is right next to the port, so it will not be difficult to find a bar or a market to refresh oneself with a drink. Beautiful sensations and the scent of summer from the Tricase beach... happy holidays.
Salento, Tricase : Pizzo Cannone is located at the extreme tip of a beautiful inlet of Tricase Porto in the province of Lecce. It is so called because of the fact that following the bombardment of the old Tricase harbour tower, it was replaced with a cannon that was later removed. Pizzo Cannone today represents a corner of paradise thanks to a crystal-clear blue sea that draws real natural pools under the open sky with a stretch of coast characterised by low cliffs and beautiful inlets full of grottoes and remote corners waiting to be discovered. The seabed, so rich and colourful, is ideal for snorkelling and enjoying the beautiful play of light that these ravines capture thanks to the very nature of the coastline. The sea remains shallow at first but after a few strokes we are already in the open sea. This place gets crowded during the height of the summer season precisely because it is in the centre of the small village that is Tricase Porto, and therefore easily reached on foot by local families. Pizzo Cannone is an enchanting place for the freshness of its waters and the beauty of the panorama that can be enjoyed from the extreme tip of this marvellous inlet. Glimpses of a Salento that never ceases to amaze and timeless beauty from Tricase Porto... enjoy your summer!
Salento, Tricase : L"Isola is a tiny islet in Tricase Porto, in the province of Lecce. We are located on the eastern side of the Salento, where the coastline begins to whim and the rocky inlets further enrich this marvellous landscape surrounded by a crystal-clear sea that reflects different shades of colours ranging from light blue to green to deep blue and that change according to the time of day. The island is not far from the coast and can be reached in just a few strokes. Once you arrive, you will realise for yourself that you are in the presence of an unspoilt environment, in the company only of that gentle breeze that blows perpetually during the hot summer days so that being dried by the hot Salento sun will be a truly pleasant sensation. The view of the landscape from the island is beautiful, but relaxing for a perfect tan is also a great alternative. This stretch of coastline is very crowded in the height of summer with tourists and visitors arriving from all over the place, perhaps a little difficult to find parking during peak hours, but otherwise this corner of Apulia is a real gem and the Tricase Island is the undisputed protagonist of this wonderful Adriatic Sea all to be experienced, in its beauty and transparency. Happy holidays.
Salento, Tricase : Torre del Sasso is a coastal tower in the Salento region and is part of the complex of fortifications erected during the 16th century to defend the territory from the constant incursions of the Saracen pirates that raged along the Salento coast in those years. Torre del Sasso is located in the municipality of Tricase, in the locality of Serra del Mito, and stands on a high cliff almost 400 metres above the sea, signifying its position as a perennial sentinel. Currently the Torre del Sasso is in a state of total abandonment. Partly almost completely collapsed, this imposing ruin has the classic quardangular shape on a truncated pyramid base; the interior consisted of a single room with barrel vaults. The Torre del Sasso falls under the Costa Otranto - Santa Maria di Leuca e Bosco di Tricase Regional Natural Park and communicated to the north with Torre Porto di Ripa and to the south with Torre del Porto di Tricase. From this high rock you can enjoy a breathtaking view, in summer a pleasant wind blows, the sensations and pleasures of being in the presence of an imposing historical monument mix with the tranquillity of the surroundings and relaxation is guaranteed.
