Right in the centre of this small village called Torre Colimena we find the tower of the same name that soars majestically among prickly pear plants and low cliffs overlooking the sea. This 16th-century coastal tower is part of that complex system of territorial defence in which numerous towers are scattered along the entire Salento coastline. Torre Colimena has remained intact over the centuries. This beautiful monument is now home to a museum of ancient ceramics that were used for storing wine, and access to the public is allowed by prior reservation. This area is as rich in history and culture as the whole of Apulia, and these glimpses of an ancient landscape represented by this beautiful tower are today the pride of a wonderful and undiscovered land called Salento. Enjoy your summer and happy holidays in Torre Colimena.
