Salento, Mancaversa - Taviano: Paterte beach is located in the marina of Mancaversa, a locality belonging to the municipality of Taviano in the province of Lecce. We are on the Ionian side of Salento and continuing southward along an evocative stretch of coast we come across this beautiful beach; Paterte beach has points of low, practicable cliffs that mix with a tongue of soft, golden sand. The whole area turns out to be uncrowded even in high season and maintains that wild and lonely aspect; we are only a few kilometers south of the more famous Gallipoli but Paterte beach presents its characteristics of an area worth visiting to enjoy a well-deserved day in the sun. The sea is shallow for long stretches and maintains that blue color and so transparent that you can reflect in it; many families with children and people looking for relaxation, few services in the area and this is perhaps the most characteristic aspect of this stretch of coast, so bring with you a cooler bag full of cold drinks, your beach towel, a beach umbrella and have a good summer from the beach of Paterte di Mancaversa.

Salento, Mancaversa - Taviano: The Marina di Mancaversa Beach is located on the Salento Ionian coast about 15 kilometers south of Gallipoli, in the territory of Taviano in the province of Lecce. This stretch of coast is alternated by points of low and easily walkable cliffs with small sandy coves that have some sea pebbles that are clearly evident even as you enter the water; the sea is clear and crystalline and maintains a shallow enough depth to allow families with children to spend a quiet and relaxing day at the beach. The whole stretch of the Marina di Mancaversa beach maintains a solitary and detached aspect compared to the noisy and crowded Gallipoline beaches so that here one breathes an air of absolute relaxation and singular quiet. In terms of landscape, this stretch of coast has those unmistakable characteristics in which the green of the Mediterranean scrub blends with the white of the soft sand to the dark gray of an uninterrupted cliff in an explosion of unique colors to which is added the blue of a wonderful sea. An invitation not to be underestimated, speaking of colors, would be to stop until late afternoon to admire a fabulous sunset and watch the sun gently disappearing over the horizon, but one thing is to describe some sensations another is to experience them firsthand, this is the magic of a Salento summer, happy vacations.
Spiaggia del Mare dei Cavalli
Salento, Mancaversa - Taviano: On a relaxing stroll, walking along the coast of Marina di Mancaversa while the sea gently kisses our feet with a continuous and perpetual wave motion so pleasing to the senses here we come across the Beach of the Sea of Horses. This tongue of sand in the past was used by the locals to bring their horses so that they could be washed properly, an ancient custom that years later has left its marks, in fact you can still see on the ground the now established traces left by the wheels of the carts. The Beach of the Sea of Horses has its own special charm beyond its name and its history; although modest in size, this small beach has soft, white sand that alternates in several places with stretches of cliffs that are all in all shallow. The sea is shallow for long stretches; many families with children and locals reach this stretch of beach during daylight hours to plant their umbrella and enjoy a quiet day at the beach. There are few services on the beach so I do not recommend the place to those who are instead looking for the amenities of a well-equipped and comfortable lido; if you decide to visit Mare dei Cavalli Beach, therefore, bring a cooler bag full of drinks, your rock shoes and mask and flippers to go exploring these wonderful seabeds that lend themselves so well to those who love snorkeling. The beach is located adjacent to the coast road and is a short distance from the town so it will not be difficult, if need be, to locate a bar or supermarket for any need. This is the beauty and richness of this land, this is Salento, have a good summer.
