Salento, Felloniche - Patú: Torre Marchiello is a coastal tower in Salento located in Gagliano del Capo at Felloniche, in the deep south of Salento. We are just a few kilometres from Santa Maria di Leuca and Torre Marchiello is a defence and watchtower built during the 16th century to counter the continuous incursions of Saracen pirates that raged along the Salento coast in those years. Torre Marchiello, now unfortunately reduced to ruins and almost completely disappeared, communicated to the south with Torre San Gregorio and to the north with Torre dell"Omo Morto. The remains of this historical testimony stand a few kilometres from the sea on a small promontory from which one can enjoy a fascinating panorama immersed in nature and surrounded by typical Mediterranean scrub. Grotta delle Tre Porte
Salento, Felloniche - Patú: The Grotta delle Tre Porte is located in Felloniche, a marina in the municipality of Patù in the province of Lecce. We are on the western side of the Salento, in the deep south of this beautiful land, and the entire surrounding area is characterised by a rocky expanse mixed with the green of the typical Mediterranean scrub and high cliffs falling sheer to the sea. The name Grotta delle Tre Porte (Cave of the Three Doors) is due to the fact that the three mouths of the entrance to this characteristic cave, one of the many sea caves that complete a marvellous landscape, are clearly visible. The inside of the cave conveys strong emotions, beautiful are the suggestive plays of light due to the reflection of the water with the rocky walls, which in some parts of the cave feature stalactites and stalagmites. The sea all around is the real wealth of this area. Blue and transparent, the cool waters of this stretch of coastline are ideal for a regenerating swim, or for those who love snorkelling to visit the rich seabed. Grotta del Presepe
Salento, Felloniche - Patú: The Grotta del Presepe (Cave of the Crib) is a beautiful example of a sea cave located in Felloniche, a marina belonging to the municipality of Patù in the province of Lecce. The entire stretch of coastline in question sees the presence of a crystal-clear sea, which with its transparent seabed conveys that sense of infinity; at this point there are several currents that cross and merge to form a symbolic embrace between the Ionian and Adriatic seas.
